Runners of Indore honored in Surya Marathon organized by Indian Army, Jabalpur

Indian Army will proudly organise Surya Half Marathon for the first time in Jabalpur on the theme ‘Suryamaan Raho, Gatimaan Raho’ on Sunday. Marathon will serve as a reminder of sacrifices made by our soldiers, as well as an opportunity for the community to express their gratitude and support. Running alongside the nation’s heroes will not only create an inspiring atmosphere for all the participants, but also encourage individuals to prioritise their health and well-being. This event aims to promote significance of physical fitness and foster a sense of unity among participants across the city of Jabalpur.

Surya Half Marathon will be organised by HQ Madhya Bharat Area under the aegis of Surya Command. Marathon will be flagged off by Lieutenant General NS Raja Subramani, Army Commander, Central Command, Lucknow at the Cobra Ground Jabalpur. Chief guest will be honorary Captain Yogendra Singh Yadav, Param Vir Chakra, Kargil War Hero. The event is set to attract runners of all ages and fitness levels, including civilians, military personnel, students, NCC cadets and veterans.

Participants will have the opportunity to choose between three categories: 21-kilometer half marathon, the 10- kilometer Josh Run and the 05-kilometer Run for Fun. Routes are thoughtfully designed to showcase Cantt landmarks and scenic beauty, providing a unique experience for all runners. To ensure a safe and enjoyable event, the Indian Army has taken comprehensive measures in terms of security, medical facilities, and crowd management. Awards will be given to top performers in various age groups and categories, recognising their exceptional achievements. Additionally, all participants will receive a commemorative medal and a certificate, acknowledging their participation and commitment towards a healthier lifestyle. HQ Madhya Bharat Area, Jabalpur invites individuals to participate in this magnificent event and embrace spirit of fitness, unity, and camaraderie.
