UDAIPUR: The streets of Udaipur witnessed an extraordinary fusion of social advocacy, athletic endurance, and cultural pride during the ‘Women’s Night Run’. Organized to promote women’s safety and reclaim public spaces at night, the event was spearheaded by Udaipur’s Yashwant Foundation,an organization run by Kanika Ji in loving memory of her late father to continue his vision of social welfare.
The highlight of the event was the chief guest, International Gold Medalist athlete Nitya Singh. In a spectacular display of empowerment and physical strength, Singh completed the run wearing India’s biggest and heaviest traditional lehenga. Her historic run captivated the crowd, sending a powerful message that a woman’s attire or the time of night should never limit her freedom, safety, or strength.
Founder Kanika Ji noted that the foundation will continue to organize such initiatives to ensure safe, equal environments for women at all hours, with a portion of the event’s awareness driving local women’s safety and self-defense programs.
